Laurel Mission is a cooperative effort of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, and other friends who love and support homeland missions. Laurel Mission is given direct oversight through a Board of Directors.
Nathan Alvin Boggs serves as Executive Director of Laurel
Mission. He is Youth Pastor of Rockhouse Youth Ministries and Associate Pastor of Little Laurel Bible Church. He currently works as Program Director at Harlan County Farm Bureau in Harlan, KY.
Lindsey, Nathan’s wife, is a Respiratory Therapist. Nathan and Lindsey, who are both natives of Harlan County, live three miles from Laurel Mission at the Boggs home place.
Deborah J. Boggs serves as Associate Director of LaurelMission. Deborah lives in Laurel Mission parsonage with her two foster children Lacey and Taylor. The late Titus J. Boggs was Director of Laurel Mission, Pastor of Little Laurel Bible Church, teacher and board member of Living Waters Christian School along with numerous other social service agency boards and committees. He is remembered and loved by all who knew him.
Rev. Kenneth R. Smith is pastor of Cedar Chapel, a church located on the Laurel Mission compound. Rev. Smith is a local lay minister and a disabled coal miner. Ken and his wife Sharon, live at Living Waters Christian School with their adopted son Noah.
